What’s Coming To Walt Disney World In 2021 And 2022?

How many times have the kids asked about Walk Disney World in the past year? More than you can count, probably. Disney has been busy preparing new rides, attractions, events and accommodation options for Disney lovers, and soon all will be revealed.

In 2021 and 2022, some epic things are coming to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Disney. October 1, 2021, is the official date that kicks off Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebrations and they will party on for 18 months. It will be a festive party to remember, with Disney slowly giving us more info on what is in store. The suspense has been building for long enough, so here is what we know so far!

Happening at Epcot

Epcot is getting a total revamp with a complete re-do of Future World and heaps of new rides. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Harmonious and Space 220 are some of the exciting new attractions coming soon at Epcot in Bay Lake, Florida. They are working on more, and we are patiently waiting for the exciting details.

Disney’s Magic Kingdom

One of the biggest new attractions coming across all the Walt Disney Worlds is the much-awaited TRON Lightcycle Run roller coaster. A replica of the thrilling coaster in Shanghai Disneyland, you can expect an impressive ride that will attract long lines of excited people who love to scare themselves silly. There is no date of completion yet, but the goal is for it to be finished during the anniversary celebrations.

Splash Mountain with be transformed with a new Princess and the Frog theme (it will still be a log flume ride). Hopefully, this exciting revamp will be ready in 2022.

At the EPCOT Experience exhibit at the Odyssey Pavilion, you can see a model and video preview of the changes planned for this year and right into 2023, which gives theme park fans a lot to look forward to.

Disney World Hollywood Studios

The two newest rides there, however, are Alien Swirling Saucers and Slinky Dog Dash. Alien Swirling Saucers is a classic spinner ride and fun if you like the theming, but not one of our favorites.

Slinky Dog Dash is a new roller coaster ride that is colorful and fast. Hold on tight and don’t close your eyes because the views are amazing!

Don’t forget your lightsaber when you enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which is now open to the delight of Luke Skywalker fans. This impressive experience is sure to thrill with rides such as Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, which lets you try your pilot skills and the mind-blowing Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

In March this year, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway opened in the Chinese Theater. The first Mickey Mouse-themed attraction in a Disney park is proving popular, so don’t miss it!
